Colorado Camper Rental knows you might have some questions about a pop up tent camper/travel trailer rental, so here are the answers to frequently asked questions. Please contact us with further questions: (303) 443-1422

1. Will my vehicle be able to tow your camper?
People ask this quite often, so we have provided tow guides for the majority of vehicles on the road: Towing Guides. Check your owners manual or with your vehicle's dealer to determine its towing capacity. We have a wide selection of campers from 1400 pounds and up.
2. What kind of hitch and vehicle wiring do I need to tow your campers?
Colorado Camper Rental’s campers are equipped with seven pin round connector for the camper’s signals, brake lights, and running lights. Ideally, your vehicle needs have the seven pin round Bargman plug insert. If it had the 4 pin flat connection, you will need to either purchase a 4-7 pin adapter, or rent one of ours for $10 total.
3. We have never used a camper before. Can one person set it up? Do you show us how to set it up?
Yes and yes. Colorado Camper Rental sets up the camper, shows you the amenities and how they work, goes through the rental agreement with you, and hitches the camper to your vehicle. We schedule pick up appointments for an hour to ensure we have covered everything. In addition we provide set up instructions for you to reference in case you have any questions. We also invite you to call during your trip and provide emergency assistance after hours.
4. No hidden fees? Really?
Really. We state all costs you are responsible for up front and communicate those costs prior to making any charges.
5. What am I responsible for prior to returning the camper?
You need to refill the propane tanks. We do not accept cylinder exchanges as these cylinders are old and not full. A $25 service fee in addition to the cost of fuel is charged if tanks are not returned full. This is the same for generator and vehicle rentals.
You need to empty and rinse the cassette toilet/porta potti/waste tanks (if applicable). If cassette toilet/porta potti/waste tank is returned with visible waste and/or discoloration OR returned clogged, a $150 cleaning/sanitation fee is charged.
The camper/tow vehicle must be returned as clean as it was checked out to you to avoid a $50/hour cleaning fee; unless you opted to pay us to clean the camper at a rate of $50/hour. *Camper cleaning by us DOES NOT include potti/waste tank dumping.*
We go over these things again at pick up.
6. When are your pickup and return times?
Pickup times are scheduled by appointment only between 12pm and 5pm
Monday through Friday.  Pick up appointments before 2pm can be scheduled
only for campers that were returned by the previous customer at least one day
prior to your pick up date.  This policy is to ensure your camper is clean,
functional, and ready for your trip.

Please contact us to schedule your pick up appointment time ASAP to ensure
a time that works best for you.

Campers must be returned by 12pm if returning Monday through Friday, and by
4 pm for Sunday returns. Because the camper you return can often be reserved
for pick up the same day of return, we need to enforce this return policy to honor
other reservation pick up times.

7. What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel more than 14 days before your scheduled pickup date, we refund all but a $100 cancellation fee. If you cancel within 14 days of your scheduled pickup date you are responsible for the rental reservation and no refund is given.
8. How does insurance work?
Colorado Camper Rental includes comprehensive and collision coverage insurance and provides this insurance coverage to you with no charge. This is the coverage of the camper while attached and detached from your vehicle. The coverage does have a $500 deductible. Renters are responsible for liability insurance coverage. This coverage must come from the tow vehicle, and therefore is not something we can provide. We require a signed form stating the camper is covered for liability under your insurance policy. Should you be liable in an accident, you are responsible for all damages. Should the camper be hit by someone, stolen, or damaged by weather, you are responsible for the $500 deductible and our policy covers everything above the deductible.
TOW VEHICLE RENTALS: Renter must provide full coverage of the vehicle with state requirements of liability coverage, as well as comprehensive and collision coverage.
9. Do you require a security/damage deposit?
To reserve a camper, we require 50% of the reservation total at time of booking.  Fourteen days prior to the pickup date, we charge the remaining balance. This is why cancellations within fourteen days of pick up are not refunded.
A damage deposit is required at pick up. The renter will need to sign a credit card authorization form for the damage deposit. The card is authorized for $500 (deductible discussed above). The card is not charged unless the camper is returned with damage, propane not filled, tanks not dumped, or dirty. Colorado Camper Rental determines what the repairs will cost and makes every effort to keep the repair cost low. The renter is contacted prior to making any charges.
10. If the camper has a battery, why would I need a generator or solar panel?
Batteries have a limited life span before they need recharging. Therefore, you need to make sure you have enough power for your trip. If you are camping anywhere without electric hookups, you should consider a generator or solar panel to keep your battery charged. If your trip is 3-4 days and you aren’t using the lights or furnace much, you can get away with running on the battery. Otherwise, a 30 amp hookup will keep your battery charged and run the camper amenities.
You must have electric hookups or a 4000 watt generator to use the air conditioning. If you do not require the ability to air conditioning, a 2000 watt generator will keep the battery charged and allow use of the microwave, outlets, and TV.
11. What does winterizing a camper mean and when are campers winterized?
Winterizing a camper makes the water system unavailable for use. Amenities such as the sink, shower, and toilet are not available for use. We put RV antifreeze in the water lines and drain the tanks. We winterize October 1st to April 30th to prevent damage to the water lines and water pump. Beginning May 1st we have water in all campers.
12. Do you offer any discounts?
We offer $50 off all future rentals with us after your first one. We offer $50 off if you are serving or have served in the military. We also offer 10% off of rentals that are a month long or more. Discounts cannot be combined.
13. Does Colorado Camper Rental do any service on other people’s campers and RVs?
Yes. We are happy to help you with your camper or RV. We can perform services such as install solar systems, replace or repair furnaces, water pumps, etc. We have an industrial sewing machine and can repair torn canvas and other thick materials.
14. Do you allow pets?
Yes. We allow pets in all units except the pop up ALiner popup. There is no extra fee for bringing your pet(s).
